When setting up and editing a discovery or visibility job on Amazon Web Services (AWS), you can configure the AWS credentials, configuration options, and other discovery and visibility options that CDV uses when performing operations on AWS infrastructures..

You will need to configure these settings when first setting up a Discovery. Later, you can update settings for the Discovery schedule manager or (if using the real-time monitoring mode) Visibility manager as needed.

Available settings for AWS infrastructures are as follows:

  • AWS job settings: Credentials: Settings that let you configure the account that CDV uses to access the AWS infrastructure.

  • AWS job settings: Account Filter options: (Organization-level jobs only) Settings that let you specify the accounts to include or not include when performing Organization-level discovery and visibility.

  • AWS job settings: Configuration Options: Settings that let you specify how CDV creates BlueCat Address Manager "Configurations" when importing AWS resources.

  • AWS job settings: Discovery options: (Advanced setup only) Settings that let you specify in more detail the resources imported into Address Manager.

  • AWS job settings: Monitoring Options: Settings that let you specify how (or if) you want CDV to keep the set of imported resources up to date with future changes in the AWS infrastructure. If you choose Real time updates, CDV creates a Visibility manager with one or more Visibility jobs.
