To access this page, select the Policies tab in the Network Discovery & Visibility GUI.
Use the Discovery policies page to create discovery policies; these policies will be stored in Network Discovery. You can also manage all the created policies from this page.
| Column | Description |

| Name | The unique name provided for the policy. |
| Seed Addresses | The IP addresses of the first (seed) device or host that Network Discovery must use to collect network data. Discovery starts from these IP addresses. |
| Type | The type of discovery associated with the policy. The possible values are SNMP, SSH, and VMware. |
| Creation time | The date and time when the policy was created. The date is displayed in the format MM DD, YYYY and time is displayed in the format hh:mm:ss AM/PM. |

Actions you can perform
- Similar to other tables in Integrity, you can search for specific policies in the Discovery policies table by name, sort and customize the table, as well as filter, refresh, and download table data.
- Create discovery policies—select . Refer to Create SNMP discovery policies, Create VMware discovery policies, and Create SSH discovery policies for details.
- View additional information about discovery
policies—to view additional information about the created
discovery policies:Select an entry in the Discovery policies table, or select the vertical ellipsis icon for a policy in the table, then select View details. The expanded details section displays additional information about the settings (such as credentials, hops, ping, and discovery) and advanced options (such as DNS lookup) configured for the policy.
- Edit settings configured for a discovery policy—to edit the configured settings for a policy:

Do one of the following:
- Select the vertical ellipsis icon for a policy in the Discovery policies table, then select Edit.
- Select a policy entry in the Discovery policies table, then select Edit in the expanded details section that appears.

Modify the parameters as required, then select Update. For more details on the parameters, refer to Create SNMP discovery policies, Create VMware discovery policies, or Create SSH discovery policies.
The policy is updated and you're taken back to the Discovery policies page.
- Delete discovery policies—you can delete any discovery policy that is not being used in a discovery task.

Do one of the following:
- Select the checkbox for one or more policies in the Discovery policies table, then select .
- Select the vertical ellipsis icon for a policy in the Discovery policies table, then select Delete.
- Select a policy entry in the Discovery policies table, then select Delete in the expanded details section that appears.
A confirmation window appears, asking you to confirm the deletion.

Select Delete again.
If the selected policies are not being used in a discovery task, the policies are successfully deleted. You're taken back to the Discovery policies page.
If any selected policies are currently being used in a discovery task, such policies cannot be deleted and an error message is displayed. Select Cancel to go back to the Discovery policies page.
