Use the following procedure to create SSH credentials:
Note: If multiple devices use the same credentials, you can create
the credentials once and save them to reuse across multiple discovery
policies.
- Select the Credentials tab.
- Select New Credentials > SSH.

In the Create SSH credential window that appears, set the
following parameters:
Note: Parameters marked with an asterisk (*) in the UI are mandatory.
- Name—enter a unique name for the credentials. For example, ASA-SSH. This name is used only for identification within Network Discovery and in discovery policies.
- Username—enter the username of an existing SSH account configured on the device.
- Port—enter the port number of the port that must be open for SSH. The default value is 22.
- Method of authentication—select the method used to authenticate
the device, and enter the required details:
- Password—if a password is used as the authentication method, select Password and enter the SSH password in the Password field that is displayed.
- Private key—if an SSH private key is used as the authentication method, select Private key, and paste the private key in the Private key field that is displayed. If you have a passphrase accompanying the private key, you can enter it in the Passphrase field that is displayed.
- (Required only for Cisco ASA devices) Cisco ASA privileged
password—enter the Cisco ASA privileged password to access
higher-level commands (such as
enable).
- Select Create to create the credentials and return to the Credentials table, or select Create and add another to create the credentials and re-open the Create a new credential window.
