Use the following procedure to create VMware credentials:

Note: If multiple devices use the same credentials, you can create the credentials once and save them to reuse across multiple discovery policies.
  1. Select the Credentials tab.
  2. Select New Credentials > VMware.
  3. In the Create VMware credential window that appears, set the following parameters:
    Note: Parameters marked with an asterisk (*) in the UI are mandatory.
    • Name—enter a unique name for the credentials. For example, ESXi-01. This name is used only for identification within Network Discovery and in discovery policies.
    • Username—enter the username of an existing VMware account configured on the vSphere or ESXi server.
    • Password—enter the password corresponding to the user ID you specified, as configured on the vSphere or ESXi server.
  4. Select Create to create the credentials and return to the Credentials table, or select Create and add another to create the credentials and re-open the Create a new credential window.
