Use DHCP custom options to create DHCP options that aren't directly supported in Address Manager.

To add a DHCP custom option, you must first define the DHCP custom option. After you have defined a DHCP custom option, you can select that option when adding a DHCP client deployment option.

To add a DHCP custom option:

The following steps are to define DHCP custom options:

  1. From the configuration drop-down menu, select a configuration.
  2. Select the IP Space tab. Tabs remember the page on which you last worked, so select the tab again to ensure you're working on the Configuration Information page.
  3. Click the DHCP Settings tab.
  4. Under DHCP Custom Option Definition, click New.
  5. Under General, define the custom option:
    • Option Code—select the DHCP option code number.
    • Name—type a descriptive name for the custom option.
    • Type—select a option type from the drop-down menu.
    • Allow Multiple—this check box is available for all option types except String, Binary, and Encapsulated.
  6. Under Change Control, add comments, if required.
  7. Click Add or Add Next to add another option.

The following steps are to add defined DHCP custom options:
  1. Click the Deployment Options tab.
  2. Under Deployment Options, click New, then select DHCP Client Option.

  4. Under Servers, select the servers or server group to which the option will apply:
    • All Servers—applies the deployment option to all servers in the configuration.
    • Server Group—applies the deployment option to a specific server group in the configuration. Select a server group from the drop-down menu.
    • Specific Server—applies the deployment option to a specific server in the configuration. Select a server from the drop-down list.
Note: You can't override deployment options set at the configuration level from the server group level if the deployment option is applied to a specific server within a server group.
