Add a DHCPv4 deployment role to a network. Each network can have only a single assigned DHCP role.

DHCP roles are always set to Primary or None. Roles set to None are used for DHCP services that have been designed in Address Manager, but aren't yet ready to be deployed.

Note: For shared networks, each member network of the shared network must have the same type of DHCP deployment role assigned to its network object.

To add a DHCPv4 deployment role:

  1. Select the IPAM tab in the sidebar, then select IPv4 blocks.
  2. Navigate to an IPv4 block or IPv4 network.
  3. Select the Deployment roles tab.
  4. Select New > DHCP deployment role.
  5. Under General, set the following parameters:
    • Role—select Primary or None from the drop-down list.
    • Primary interface—select the interface for the primary server or xHA pair.
    • Secondary interface—select the interface for the secondary server or xHA pair for failover.
  6. In the Change control section, add comments if required.
  7. Select Create or Create and add another.
