Add a DHCPv6 deployment role to a network. Each network can have only a single assigned DHCP role.

DHCP roles are always set to Primary or None. Roles set to None are used for DHCP services that have been designed in Address Manager, but aren't yet ready to be deployed.

Attention: To add a DHCPv6 deployment role to an DNS/DHCP Server, the server must have an IPv6 address configured on the eth0 interface. You can assign an IPv6 address to the Service interface (eth0) only through the Address Manager Administration Console.

To add a DHCPv6 deployment role:

  1. Select the IPAM tab in the sidebar, then select IPv6 blocks.
  2. Navigate to an IPv6 block or IPv6 network.
  3. Select the Deployment roles tab.
  4. Select New > DHCP deployment role.
  5. Under General, set the following parameters:
    • Role—select Primary from the drop-down list.
    • Primary interface—select the interface for the primary server or xHA pair.
    • Secondary interface—select the interface for the secondary server or xHA pair for DHCPv6 High Availability.
  6. In the Change control section, add comments if required.
  7. Select Create or Create and add another.
