Add multiple VLAN interfaces to the Service interface (eth0) of an xHA pair. Ensure that IP addresses are unique and don't conflict with IPs configured on other interfaces of the server or in your network.

Note: If you need to add VLAN interfaces to a service interface other than eth0, such as bonding interface, you must configure the Primary Service IP and parent VLAN interface from the Administration Console of the Active Node. For details, refer to Setting the Primary Service IP address.

To configure VLAN interfaces on an xHA pair:

  1. Select the Servers tab. Tabs remember the page you last worked on, so select the tab again to ensure you're on the Configuration information page.
  2. Under Servers, click the xHA pair.
  3. Click the xHA pair name menu and select Service Configuration.
  4. From the Service Type drop-down menu, select Interfaces. Address Manager queries the xHA Pair and returns the current values for the service.
  5. Under the Interface column, choose eth0 then navigate across the row to the Action column and click Add.
    Note: The Parent Interface, Interface, and Type fields are automatically populated and can't be edited.
  6. The number in the VLAN ID field is automatically populated sequentially with a number from 1 to 4094 based on the available VLANs, but you can also enter a VLAN ID manually.
  7. In the Description field, enter a name for the VLAN interface. You can enter up to 80 alphanumeric characters including spaces, but excluding special characters.

  9. Select the Active check box to activate the VLAN interface. Deselect the check box to disable the VLAN interface.
  10. In the Address/CIDR field, enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address and netmask/prefix using CIDR notation. For example, 192.0.2.100/24 or 2001:db8::AC10:FE02/64. This will be the IP address assigned to the newly created VLAN interface. If no netmask is included for an IPv4 address, the UI will not accept the address. For an IPv6 address missing a prefix, /128 will be automatically added.
  11. Click Add Address. The IP address appears in the Addresses list. To delete an address, select an IP address from the Addresses list and click Remove.
  12. Click OK. The pop-up window closes and the newly created VLAN interface appears in the Interfaces table.
Note: Editing or deleting VLAN interfaces on an xHA pair is the same as standalone DNS/DHCP Servers. For details, refer to Configuring VLAN interfaces.
