You must add a DDW server to an Address Manager configuration before you can add a Managed Windows server.
Attention: When adding a new DDW server to Address Manager
v8.3.0, it can only be a DDW v8.3.0 server, not a DDW v8.2.0 server (or
earlier). A DDW v8.2.0/v8.1.1/v8.1.0 server that is already under Address
Manager control will continue to function normally upon upgrade to Address
Manager v8.3.0 however, you will not be able to replace the DDW
v8.2.0/v8.1.1/v8.1.0 server nor can you add new Windows servers. Upgrading to
DDW v8.3.0 removes this limitation and ensures continued functionality with
Address Manager v8.3.0.
Note: Ensure that the system times on Address Manager and the BlueCat Address
Manager for Windows Server (DDW) server are synchronized. Preferably, the system
times should be synchronized using a Network Time Protocol (NTP) service.
Address Manager can be configured to provide NTP service. For instructions on
configuring NTP services in Address Manager, refer to Network Time Protocol. Alternatively, you can set the
Windows server so that its time is a few seconds ahead of the Address Manager
server.
To add a DDW server:
With a DDW server added to Address Manager, you can now add a Windows DNS or
Windows DHCP server. For details, refer to Managing Windows DNS and Managing Windows DHCP.
