The Add alias records window opens when you select the Add alias records option on a host or alias resource record details page. You can use this method to add aliases to the current zone or to zones other than the zone you are currently in.

To add a CNAME record from the host or alias record details page:

  1. Select the DNS tab in the sidebar, then select Views.
  2. Navigate to the level (DNS zone or DNS sub-zone) where you want to add an alias record.
  3. Select the Resource records tab.
  4. Select the name of a host record or alias record in the Resource records table.
  5. Select the host record name menu or alias record name menu, then select Add alias records.
  6. Configure the following parameters:
    • Destination zone—select the zone to which you want to add aliases.
    • Record name—enter a fully-qualified domain name for the alias, then select the add (+) icon.
  7. In the Change control section, add comments if required.
  8. Select Add.
