Quick actions allows you to quickly assign DHCP reserved IP addresses within a specific network.

To assign a DHCP reserved IPv4 address:

  1. Select a quick actions method:
    • If using the Quick actions widget:
      • From the Quick actions widget that has the appropriate configuration and view configured, under IP addresses, select Assign > DHCP reserved IPv4 address.
    • If using the Quick actions button in the toolbar:
      • Ensure the proper configuration is selected in the top bar configuration selector, select the Quick actions button (lightning bolt), ensure the correct view is selected in the expanded Quick actions menu, then select Assign DHCP reserved IPv4 address.
  2. Under General, set the following parameters:
    1. Network—enter the network that you want to assign a DHCP reserved IPv4 address in.
    2. Address—enter the IP address. After selecting the network, this field will be automatically populated with the first available address in the network.
    3. MAC address—enter the MAC address for the IP address in the format nnnnnnnnnnnn, nn-nn-nn-nn-nn-nn, or nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn, where nn is a hexadecimal value from 00 to FF.
    4. Hostname—select from the following options:
      • Same as zone—select this option to give the host the same name as the zone.
      • Specify name—enter the name for the host record assignment.
    5. Reverse record—select the checkbox to create a reverse record for the host.
    6. Assign to MAC pool—select the checkbox, then select a MAC pool from the drop-down menu to link the MAC address to a pool. Users will only see the MAC pool to which they have view access rights.
    7. Template—enter the name of an IPv4 template to assign a template to the IP address.
    8. Location—select a location from the drop-down menu to associate the IP address to a location.
    9. IP address name—enter a descriptive name for the IP address.
  3. On the Change control tab, add change control comments if required.
  4. Select Create.
