Break and reset database replication when you want to disable replication on your servers and return the Primary and Standby servers to stand-alone operation. Use the Address Manager GUI on the Primary server to break replication.
Note: You must be an Address Manager administrator to break database
replication.
Note: If the Primary Address Manager server is offline, refer
to Forcibly resetting database replication.
- Login as an administrator to the UI of the Primary Address Manager server.
- Select the Settings tab in the sidebar.
- Under Database management, select Replication settings.
- Click the ellipses within the row of the Primary server and select Break replication.
- Select the Reset replication on the Address Manager server check box to reset replication on the Standby servers.
- Click Break
After performing the steps above, all servers have been returned to standalone
operation and contain the information that was replicated until the break was performed.
Note: After
breaking replication, BlueCat recommends performing a full deployment to all managed
DNS/DHCP Servers.
Note: If feature modules were enabled on the Primary server
in the replication cluster, those feature modules will be enabled on the new
standalone server after resetting replication. This applies to resetting both
Primary and Secondary servers - if a Secondary is reset, the feature modules that
were enabled on the Primary will be enabled on the new standalone (former
Secondary).
