Before applying an Address Manager software update, BlueCat strongly recommends checking the available free disk space.

To check the available disk space on the /data partition:

  1. Log in to Address Manager using SSH or console as root.
  2. Run the following command to check the available disk space on the /data partition of the Address Manager server:
    df -hr /data
The output will look similar to the following:
    root@new:~# df -h /data
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda11 70G 66M 67G 1% /data
Important: To successfully upgrade Address Manager, the available disk space on the /data partition must be at least 30%; this means that the number under the Use% column in the resulting output should be no higher than 70%.

Environments that might not have sufficient temporary space include virtual environments and environments with large databases. If you do not have sufficient disk space available for the upgrade and require assistance freeing space, contact BlueCat Customer Care.
