Configuring DHCPv6 High Availability begins by assigning two DHCPv6 deployment roles to the same DHCPv6 range.

Attention: If you configure a DHCPv6 raw option on a DHCPv6 range, the DHCPv6 Raw option is only deployed on the Primary server in DHCPv6 High Availability. To ensure that the DHCPv6 raw option is also configured on the Secondary server, you must configure a second DHCPv6 raw option on the DHCPv6 range and deploy the option to the Secondary server.

To configure DHCPv6 High Availability:

  1. Select the IPAM tab in the sidebar, then select IPv6 blocks.
  2. Select the 2000::/3 (Global Unicast Address Space) range, or the fc00::/6 (Unique Local Address Space) range.
  3. Navigate to the IPv6 block or IPv6 network containing the DHCPv6 High Availability ranges.
  4. Select the Deployment roles tab.
  5. Select New > DHCP deployment role.
  6. Under General, set the following parameters:
    • Role—select Primary from the drop-down list.
    • Primary interface—select the interface for the primary server or xHA pair.
    • Secondary interface—select the interface for the secondary server or xHA pair for DHCPv6 High Availability.
  7. In the Change control section, add comments if required.
  8. Select Create or Create and add another.
  9. Deploy DHCPv6 to both servers or xHA pairs.
