This topic describes how to switch between Micetro and Integrity modes on DNS/DHCP Server appliances.
New in v9.6.0, DNS/DHCP Server appliances can be configured in the CLI to support either Address Manager (default) or Micetro management software. Before adding a DNS/DHCP Server to Micetro, users must configure the DNS/DHCP Server to be in Micetro-mode. For more information on the v9.6.0 DNS/DHCP Server and Micetro integration, refer to Micetro DNS/DHCP Servers (MDDS).
Note: DNS/DHCP
Server appliances cannot be managed simultaenously by both
Micetro and Address Manager; DNS/DHCP Servers in Micetro-mode
can only be managed by Micetro. Similarly, DNS/DHCP Servers in
Integrity-mode can only be managed by Address
Manager.
Warning: Allow
Ping is disabled by default on new BlueCat
DNS/DHCP Servers (Integrity-mode). Setting a DNS/DHCP Server to
Micetro-mode will automatically enable Allow
Ping on the DNS/DHCP Server. If a DNS/DHCP
Server in Micetro-mode is returned to Integrity-mode,
Allow Ping will remain enabled on the
DNS/DHCP Server, and must be disabled manually through the
firewall service configuration to block pings.
To set Micetro-mode on the DNS/DHCP Server:
- Log in to the Administration Console as the administrator.
- From Main Session mode, type configure system and press ENTER.
- Type set mode micetro and press ENTER.
Example:
Adonis> configure system
Adonis:configure:system> set mode micetro
Setting mode to: micetro
Please wait...
Done
Adonis:configure:system> show mode
Management Mode = micetro
To return the DNS/DHCP Server to Integrity-mode:
- Log in to the Administration Console as the administrator.
- From Main Session mode, type configure system and press ENTER.
- Type set mode integrity and press ENTER.
Example:
Adonis> configure system
Adonis:configure:system> set mode integrity
Setting mode to: integrity
Please wait...
Done
Adonis:configure:system> show mode
Management Mode = integrity
