This is OPTIONAL.

Customers using LDAP authentication who might be experiencing LDAP login performance issues have the option to configure the Global Catalogue port to improve login performance. If Active Directory login performance is slow, complete the following procedure to use the Global Catalog port instead of LDAP.

To configure the Global Catalogue for AD Authentication:

  1. Change the authenticator to point to a Global Catalog role Domain Controller, either by hostname or IP address (if it's not already configured this way).
  2. Change the port number to 3268 or 3269 (for LDAP over SSL).
  3. Create one or more additional authenticators to other Global Catalogs and daisy chain them for redundancy.
