Control managed servers in Address Manager by issuing control commands from the Address Manager user interface.

The server must be connected to Address Manager before you can issue control commands.

Available commands include stopping and restarting the server, changing the server password, and starting, stopping, and restarting DNS and DHCP services.

To issue control commands to managed servers:

  1. Select the Servers tab in the sidebar, then select Servers.
  2. Select the name of a server.
  3. Select the Services tab.
  4. To control the DNS service:
    1. Under Core services, locate the DNS service panel.
    2. From the Actions menu, select a menu option to Start, Stop, or Restart the DNS service. You can also select Clear cache, which flushes DNS information from the cache on recursive or caching server. Selecting Clear cache will open a window with additional options to specify which entries to clear. For more information, refer to DNS cache management.
Attention: Currently, a limitation exists where restarting, or stopping and starting, DNS Service on a managed DNS Server will automatically disable Querylogging. However, if you have enabled ArcSight or QRadar, the state of Querylogging will be preserved upon restart of DNS Service.
  5. To control the DHCP service:
    1. Under Core services, locate the DHCPv4 service or DHCPv6 service panel.
    2. From the Actions menu, select a menu option to Start, Stop, or Restart the DHCP service.
  6. To control the appliance:
    1. Under Server management and configuration, locate the Appliance service panel.
    2. From the Actions menu, select a menu option to Restart, or Shutdown the DNS/DHCP Server. You can also select Update password to update the deployment password on the server. Selecting Update password will open a window to enter and confirm a new password.
