A naming policy is a collection of rules that controls the names that may be
assigned to DNS resource records. Naming policies can be used to enforce a naming convention
and to prevent restricted words from being used in resource record names.
A naming policy is defined by assembling one or more naming policy values into
the required name structure.
To create a naming policy:
-
Select the Settings tab in the sidebar.
-
Under DNS settings, select Naming
policies.
-
Select New.
-
Under General, complete the following:
- Name—enter a descriptive name for the naming
policy.

On the Policy values tab, complete the following:

policy. Repeat this step to add additional items to the naming policy.
Select the Remove (X) button to remove an item
from the naming policy.

restrictions, select the name of a naming restriction and select the
Add (+) button to add it to the naming
policy. Repeat this step to add additional items to the naming policy.
Select the Remove (X) button to remove an item
from the naming policy.
-
In the Change control
section, add comments if required.

the naming policy page. Select Create and add another to
