A naming restriction is a list of words that can't be used as part of a
resource record name. Use naming restrictions to prevent reserved or undesirable words from
being used in resource record names.
You can add naming restrictions to a naming policy at any time; you don't need to
create naming restrictions before you create a naming policy.
To create a naming restriction:
-
Select the Settings tab in the sidebar.
-
Under DNS settings, select Naming
policies.
-
Select the Naming policy restrictions tab.
-
Select New.
-
Under General, complete the following:
- Name—enter a descriptive name for the naming
policy restriction.
-
On the Restriction list tab, select between the
following options:
-
Select the Add (+) button to add an item to the
restriction list. Click the Remove (X) button to remove
an item from the list.
-
In the Change control
section, add comments if required.
-
Select Create to create the naming policy restriction
and return to the naming policy restriction page. Select Create and
add another to create the naming policy restriction and remain
in the window to create additional naming policy restrictions.
