Create or edit a server group in Address Manager.

To create or edit a server group

  1. Select the Servers tab in the sidebar, then select Server groups.
  2. To create a server group, select New. To edit a server group, select the row containing the server group in the Server groups table, then select Edit in the expanded details section.
  3. Configure the following parameters:
    • Name—enter the name of the server group.
    • Multi-primary—select the checkbox to configure the server group as a multi-primary DNS server group.
      Note:
      • Only DNS/DHCP Servers running software version 9.6.0+ can be configured with multi-primary DNS zones.
      • The DNS/DHCP Servers must not have any deployment roles attached to it.
      • For ease of use and deployment, BlueCat recommends configuring all DNS/DHCP Servers with similar configuration settings, such as dedicated management, notification, and interface settings.
Attention: Once you have created a server group, you cannot modify the Multi-primary checkbox setting. If you would like to modify whether the server group is a multi-primary server group, you must delete the server group and create a new server group with the updated Multi-primary checkbox selection.
  4. In the Change control section, add comments if required.
  5. If creating a server group, select Create or Create and add another. If editing a server group, select Save.
