The DNS tab displays metrics collected related to DNS usage on the DNS/DHCP Server.
Attention: Address Manager v25.1 can only collect
metrics from DNS/DHCP Servers running software version 25.1.
Note: If the DNS/DHCP Server is not configured with DNS service, a
message appears indicating that the service is disabled on the server. Click
Go to server to navigate to the Deployment
roles tab of the DNS/DHCP Server.
From this tab, the following graphs display metrics about the DNS usage:
- DNS queries per second—displays the DNS queries per second performed against the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe.
- Query hit ratio—displays the percentage of queries successfully processed through the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe.
- Cache hit ratio—displays the percentage of queries cached through the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe.
- Top DNS queries—displays the top DNS queries made against the DNS/DHCP Server
for the given timeframe.Note: This graph only displays the top 10 queries for the selected timeframe, sorted from highest to lowest.
- Top DNS clients—displays the top clients performing DNS queries against the
DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe.Note: This graph only displays the top 10 clients for the selected timeframe, sorted from highest to lowest.
- DNS queries by opcode—displays information about the opcode of DNS queries processed though the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe. The graph represents the number of queries based on each opcode, such as UPDATE, QUERY, and STATUS.
- DNS queries by resource record—displays information about the resource records queried processed though the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe. The graph represents the number of queries based on each resource record, such as A, AAAA, and PTR.
- DNS responses by RCODE—displays information about the response codes returned by the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe. The graph represents the number of queries based on each resource record, such as NOERROR, SERVFAIL, and NXDOMAIN.
- DNS server stats—displays information about BIND server statistics of the DNS/DHCP Server for the given timeframe.
- DNS resolver (RTT)—displays information about DNS resolver statistics of the DNS/DHCP Server, such as CookieIn, Responsev4, and Queryv4, for the given timeframe.
- DNS sockets—displays information about DNS socket statistics of the DNS/DHCP Server, such as UDP4Open, UDP6Open, and FDWatchClose, for the given timeframe.
