This task describes how to disable Dedicated Management on a managed DNS/DHCP Server.

If you would prefer not to separate Services and Management traffic onto two different subnets, you can disable Dedicated Management from the DNS/DHCP Server Administration Console. Disabling Dedicated Management will disable eth2 and return all SSH, SNMP, and Command Server traffic to eth0.

To disable Dedicated Management:

  1. Log in to the Address Manager user interface.
  2. Select the Servers tab, then click on the name of the multi-interface DNS/DHCP Server.
  3. Click the server name and select Disable.
    The DNS/DHCP Server is now disabled.
  4. Log in to the DNS/DHCP Server Administration Console as the administrator (by default, username: admin, password: admin).
  5. From Main Session mode, type configure interfaces and press ENTER.
  6. Type set dedicated-management disable and press ENTER. Dedicated management is disabled on eth2. eth0 is now used for both Management and Services. 
    Adonis> configure interfaces
Adonis:configure:interfaces> set dedicated-management disable
Adonis:configure:interfaces> exit
  7. Type exit and press ENTER until you return to Main Session mode.
  8. Reconfigure your network routing to connect the Address Manager appliance to a switch that's on the same subnet as the Service interface of the DNS/DHCP Server appliance (eth0).
  9. Log in to the Address Manager Administration Console as the administrator. For more information on default login credential for Address Manager, refer to BlueCat default login credentials (you must be authenticated to view this topic).
  10. From Main Session mode, run the configure interfaces command and assign an IPv4 address the eth0 interface. The eth0 interface must be on the same subnet as the Services interface of the DNS/DHCP Server appliance (eth0).
  11. Return to the Address Manager user interface. From the Servers tab, replace the DNS/DHCP Server using the IP address of the Service interface (eth0).
