Modify an IPv6 address assignment to change it to a different address type. If the interface’s MAC address has changed, you can move the assignment to a different MAC address or interface ID. Clear the IPv6 address assignment without deleting the address.
To edit, move, or clear an IPv6 address assignment:
- Select the IP Space tab. Tabs remember the page you last worked on, so select the tab again to ensure you're on the Configuration information page.
- From the configuration drop-down menu, select a configuration.
- Click the IPv6 tab. Under IPv6 Blocks, navigate through the IPv6 blocks and networks to locate a static or a DHCP reserved IPv6 address.
- Click IPv6 address.
- To clear the address assignment click the menu beside the address name and select Clear, then continue with step 8.

To edit the assignment, click the menu beside the address name and
select Edit, and follow these steps:
- Under Address, click the address to view its details.
- Under General Settings, set the following
options:

- IP Address Name—enter or change the name for the IPv6 address.
- Reserve Using—select to reserve the IPv6 address either by Client DUID or MAC Address. The default reservation is through Client DUID. This option displays only if you select DHCP Reserved from the Type of Action drop-down menu.
- Client DUID—enter the DHCP Unique Identifier.
- MAC Address—if not pre-populated, type the MAC address in the format nnnnnnnnnnnn, nn-nn-nn-nn-nn-nn, or nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn where nn is a hexadecimal value from 00 to FF.
- Location—(Optional) select a
location from the drop-down menu on which the IP object that you are
adding or editing will be based. The most frequently used location
objects are at the top of the list.
- Inherited Location—displays the location annotation that's inherited from the parent object. If you don't include a location, this default location will be used for the current object and its child objects.

- Continue with step 8.

To move the address assignment, click the address
name menu and select Move, then, under Destination to
move to, set the new address location:
- Destination Network—specify the destination IPv6 network to which the IPv6 address will be reassigned. By default, the current parent network of the IPv6 address will be populated.
- MAC Address—select this option and enter the new MAC address. Use this option when you know the new MAC address for the assignment.
- Interface ID—select this option and enter the new interface ID. Use this option when you know the new interface ID for the assignment.
- Under Change Control, add comments, if required.
- Click Yes.
