You must purchase a valid license from BlueCat Customer Care for the Network Discovery & Visibility Feature Module and activate it before you can begin using the Feature Module.

Attention: Ensure that the NTP service is synchronized before enabling the Network Discovery & Visibility Feature Module. This is required to prevent issues with executing discovery tasks and reconciliation policies when system time moves backward due to NTP updates.
Note:
  • Upgrade or migration from previous Network Discovery & Visibility (standalone) versions to Network Discovery & Visibility v26.1.0 is not supported.
  • Starting in v26.1.0, MIB dump result files, discovery result files, and log files do not persist after upgrading to greater versions. This behavior does not impact the feature module's functionality after upgrade.
To activate the license, use the following procedure:
  1. Select the ND&V tab in the sidebar.
  2. Under Activate Network Discovery & Visibility, use the Upload license box to select or drag and drop the license file to upload it.
  3. Select Activate.
    Once the license is validated and activated automatically, the Network Discovery & Visibility GUI is ready for use. You can proceed to understanding the end-to-end discovery workflow. Then, you can prepare for discovery.
    Note: Only reconciled IP addresses are counted for licensing and the allowed limit is determined by the type of license purchased. The Network Discovery & Visibility Feature Module continuously monitors the number of reconciled IP addresses and displays a warning message in the GUI when the license limit is exceeded.
