By default, the Serial port is enabled. If you wish to disable or enable the serial port, use the configure serial command.
To enable/disable the serial port:
- From Main Session mode, type configure serial and press ENTER.

Type <enable|disable> and press
ENTER.
Upon disabling the serial port, the Administration Console displays the
INIT: Sending processes the TERM signal
prompt. -
Type exit and press ENTER to
return to Main Session mode.
Note:
- The enable/disable command takes immediate effect and doesn't require n additional save command. Configuring the baud rate by running the set command, however, does require the save command.
- Running the show unsaved command after enabling or disabling the serial port won't display the recent changes, even though the changes are in place. Only operations using the set command will be displayed after running the show unsaved command.
