You must enable the database backup service before performing manual backups or configuring scheduled backups, and you must disable the backup service before upgrading Address Manager software.

Attention: When database replication is configured, you cannot perform a database backup on the Standby servers; however, you can still configure a disabled database backup profile on the Standby servers. If you attempt to execute a database backup on a Standby server, the following error message appears:
System does not have a primary database. Backup [backup_name] cancelled

To enable or disable the backup service:

  1. From Main Session mode, type configure backup and press ENTER.
  2. To enable the backup service, type enable and press ENTER.
  3. To disable the backup service, type disable and press ENTER.
    Note: If you need forcefully stop backup processes, you can use the force command to stop all running backup processes. For example, type disable force and press ENTER.
