If you have a Schedule manager configuration file that was exported from Cloud Discovery & Visibility (or that was manually created or edited), you can import it into a new or existing instance of CDV. Doing so imports all Schedule managers defined in that file and all of their discovery jobs. For more information on creating and downloading the visibility job configuration file, see Exporting Schedule managers and discovery jobs.

If you encrypted the configuration file with a secret key, you must enter the same secret key to decrypt and successfully import the scheduled jobs.

Note: In previous versions, CDV did not organize discovery jobs into Schedule managers. The use of Schedule managers was introduced in v25.2. If you import discovery jobs that were exported in a version prior to that, they will be converted to Schedule managers.

To import visibility jobs:

  1. If you haven't already done so, open the Discovery page (click the Discovery tab).

  2. Click the Actions button and select Import schedule managers. The Import schedule managers window opens.

  3. Under Upload file, click Upload and select the scheduled job configuration file to upload.

  4. Under Secret key, enter the secret key if you encrypted the scheduled job configuration file.

    Note: This Secret key should be the same key you used when you exported the configuration job file (if any). It is distinct and separate from the CDV Secret key used to encrypt sensitive job information that is internally stored the CDV database.

  5. Click Import.

Cloud Discovery & Visibility attempts to import the scheduled jobs from the configuration file.
