Address Manager supports associating objects with a geographic location. This helps organizations with a large global network infrastructure manage their network objects in Address Manager and standardize location information.
BlueCat currently supports the UN/LOCODE (United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations) primary location group, a geographic coding scheme that was developed and maintained by United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
The UN/LOCODE location database is integrated with the Address Manager database. The Address Manager location database is available in the Locations page (). You can navigate to a location within a country, then create your own custom child locations to customize your organization location structure. For example, if your office is Toronto, Canada, you can go to Canada → Toronto and create your specific office location object; however, you can't create, edit, or delete a location object at the primary location object level.
UN/LOCODE consists of 10 to 11 pieces of information related to every city in the world. This includes the name of the country and location and a five-character code that describes the location. This information helps uniquely identify a location in a standardized manner. For more information about UN/LOCODE, refer to http://www.unece.org/cefact/locode/welcome.html.
