The Event Notification service alerts Address Manager users to system events with an email message or through an SNMP trap. Use notifications to alert users of warnings and error conditions that may require attention to resolve, and to keep users advised of general system activity.

Note: To use email notifications, users must configure the SMTP mail service in the in the Address Manager Administration Console. Refer to Mail service for more information. To use the SNMP trap notifications, users must configure the SNMP service in the Address Manager user interface. Refer to Configuring SNMP on Address Manager for more information.

The notification service is managed through the Notification Groups page. A notification group defines the users to be notified of system events, how the users are alerted, and the events that trigger a notification. Administrative users can manage notification groups under Administration > Tracking > Notification Groups.
