If Network Discovery does not support discovery of an SNMP-enabled network device, you can use the MIB dump tab to obtain its MIB dump as a text file. Then, you can share this text file with BlueCat Customer Care for evaluation (and potential addition) of device support.

A MIB dump is a snapshot of SNMP information the device exposes and helps determine whether additional discovery support can be added.

About the MIB dump tab

The MIB dump table in the MIB dump tab displays the list of device IP addresses for which a MIB dump was obtained, along with the MIB dump creation time.

Actions you can perform

You can perform the following actions from this page:
  • Similar to other tables in Integrity, you can search for specific devices in the MIB dump table by IP addresses, sort and customize the table, as well as filter, refresh, and download table data.
  • Obtain MIB dumps for unsupported devices—refer to Obtain MIB dump for unsupported devices for details.
  • View additional information about a MIB dump—
    select an entry in the MIB dump table, or select the vertical ellipsis icon for the IP address in the table, then select View details. The expanded details section displays additional information.
  • Delete MIB dumps—you can delete one or more MIB dump files by using the following procedure:
    1. Do one of the following:
      • Select the checkbox for one or more IP addresses in the MIB dump table, then select Actions > Delete selected.
      • Select the vertical ellipsis icon for an entry in the MIB dump table, then select Delete.

      A confirmation window appears, asking you to confirm the deletion.

    2. Select Delete again.

    3. The selected MIB dump files are successfully deleted.
  • Download MIB dump files—you can download MIB dumps as text files to your local system by using the following procedure:
    1. Do one of the following:
      • Select the checkbox for one or more IP addresses in the MIB dump table, then select Actions > Download.
      • Select the vertical ellipsis icon for an entry in the MIB dump table, then select Download.

      A confirmation window appears, asking you to confirm the download.

    2. Select Download again.

    3. The selected MIB dump files are successfully downloaded to your local system.
