On the Discovery page, the Status column indicates the current status of each Discovery manager (or job within a selected Schedule manager), such as whether it or not it has been run successfully.

Common statuses include:

  • Pre-flight statuses (Performing a pre-flight check)
    • Pre-flight: in progress: The pre-flight check of the discovery is currently in progress.
    • Pre-flight: completed: All required permissions for the discovery are available.
    • Pre-flight: completed with issues: The discovery is missing one or more required permissions.
    • Pre-flight: interrupted: The pre-flight check of the discovery was interrupted. In the event of a CDV, BAM, or other system failure, the job status is set to Pre-flight: interrupted after the system restarts.
    • Pre-flight: failed: An unexpected error occurred during permission verification of the discovery.
  • Pending: The Discovery is pending.

  • Running: The Discovery is currently running.

  • Stopped: The Discovery stopped gracefully.
  • Deactivated: The Discovery manager or job has stopped because the AWS account associated with the job has been deleted from AWS. You can either restore the missing item in AWS, or Terminate (delete) the Schedule manager for the Discovery.

To terminate a deactivated Schedule manager from the Discovery tab, tick the checkbox next to each deactivated manager, then click the Actions button and select Terminate.

Tip: If you prefer, you can terminate just the deactivated job from the Schedule manager in question, leaving the others. To do so, first click the Schedule manager to view its list of jobs. Tick the checkboxes for the deactivated jobs, then click Actions and select Terminate deactivated discovery.

You will be asked whether you want to also remove the resources in BlueCat Address Manager that are associated with the selected jobs. By default, terminating a job will remove the data from CDV while retaining it in Address Manager. Click the Terminate button after making your selection.

Note: If you select the option to also delete resources from Address Manager, but the deletion from Address Manager failed, the Schedule Manager will not be removed from CDV. It will instead be flagged as Terminated with issues in the Discovery page.
For more details on how CDV deletes these resources, see How CDV deletes Address Manager resources associated with Terminated Discovery jobs, Schedules, and Visibility Managers.
Tip: You can Terminate visibility jobs from the Visibility tab.
  • Terminated with issues: An attempt was made to terminate the Discovery job or Schedule manager, but either the deletion of its resources from Address Manager failed, or the termination itself failed.

  • Completed: The Discovery job completed successfully.

  • Completed with issues: The Discovery job completed, but with errors.
