How to set options in a previously created zone template.
To set the options in a zone template:

Navigate to the Zone templates tab at the level where
your zone template was created:
- If the zone template was created at the configuration level, select the DNS tab in the sidebar, then select Zone templates.
- If the zone template was created at the view level, select the DNS tab in the sidebar, then select Views. Select the name of a view, where the zone template exists, in the Views table or DNS tree.
- Select the name of a zone template in the Zone templates table.

Select New in the Resource records
tab that opens, then select a resource record from the drop-down menu:
Note: Address Manager doesn't allow you to create resource records under zone templates if the zone template name is more than 63 characters in length. If the zone template name exceeds 63 characters, Address Manager will display the error message, "Invalid Fully Qualified Domain Name." If necessary, reduce the length of the zone template name and try adding the resource again.
- Host Record—add an A/AAAA record. For details, refer to Adding a host (A/AAAA) record.
- Alias Record (CNAME)—add a CNAME record. For details, refer to Adding an Alias (CNAME) record.
- Text Record (TXT)—add a TXT record. For details, refer to Adding a Text (TXT) record.
- Host Info Record (HINFO)—add an HINFO record. For details, refer to Adding a Host Info (HINFO) record.
- Service Record (SRV)—add an SRV record. For details, refer to Adding a Service (SRV) record.
- Mail Exchanger Record (MX)—add an MX record. For details, refer to Adding a mail exchange (MX) record.
- Naming Authority Pointer Record (NAPTR)—add an NAPTR record. For details, refer to Adding a Naming Authority Pointer (NAPTR) record.
- Generic Record—add a generic record. For details, refer to Adding a generic record. The
following types of generic resource records are available: A, AAAA, A6,
AFSDB, APL, CAA, CERT, DHCID,
DNAME, DS, IPSECKEY, ISDN, KEY,
KX, LOC, MB, MG, MINFO, MR, NS,
NSAP, PTR, PX, RP, RT, SINK,
SPF, SSHFP, TLSA, WKS, and X25. Note: The primary method for creating A/AAAA records in Address Manager is by adding a host record and linking it to an IP address.Note: The A6 record type has been moved to Historic status per RFC 6563, and is planned for removal in a future release.Note: The primary method for creating PTR records is by selecting the Reverse record checkbox during host record creation and configuring necessary deployment roles. PTR records for unmanaged external hosts can also be created as part of the IP assignment process.
- Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure Record (HTTPS)—add a HTTPS record. For details, refer to Adding a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) record.
- Service Binding Record (SVCB)—add a SVCB record. For details, refer to Adding a Service Binding (SVCB) record.
- Uniform Resource Identifier Record (URI)—add a URI record. For details, refer to Adding a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) record.
The page for adding the selected type of resource record opens. Create the resource records as required.

Select the Deployment options tab, then select
New.
Select a deployment option from the drop-down menu:
- DNS raw option—refer to Adding deployment options in DNS raw format.
- DNS option—refer to Managing DNS deployment options.
- Start of authority—refer to Adding Start of Authority records.
The page for adding the selected type of deployment option opens. Create the deployment options as required.
After creating resource records and deployment options in the template, you can:
- Assign the template to an existing zone by editing the zone. For details, see Editing DNS zones.
- Create a new zone using the template. For details, see Managing DNS zones.
