BAM allows you to set syslog (system log) redirection from the
BAM user interface by adding an IPv4 or IPv6 address for one or
more syslog redirection servers. The top-most server will be queried first.
When configuring syslog redirection, the content of the redirected syslog file might
be more verbose than the content of the syslog file written locally on DNS/DHCP
Server. DNS/DHCP Server filters the content that is written to the local syslog
file.
To configure syslog redirection on a managed BDDS:
-
From the configuration drop-down menu, select a configuration.
-
Select the Servers tab. Tabs remember the page you
last worked on, so select the tab again to ensure you're on the
Configuration information page.
-
Under Servers, click the name of a BDDS. The Details tab
for the server opens.
-
Click the server name menu and select Service
Configuration.
-
From the Service Type drop-down menu, select
Syslog. BAM queries the server and returns the
current values for the service settings.
-
Under General, set the following parameters:
- Syslog Server—enter the address for a syslog
server.
- Syslog Port—enter the port used to connect to the
syslog server.
- Syslog Transport—select the transport protocol
used to connect to the syslog server. You can select TCP or
UDP.
-
Click Add. The syslog server appears in the list. To
remove a server, select it from the list and click
Remove.
-
Click Update.
