The following section outlines steps to upgrade an instance of Cloud Discovery & Visibility (CDV) that is deployed on a DNS/DHCP Server or standalone virtual machine.
CDV 26.1 and future CDV releases are supported only on Address Manager servers as a built-in feature module. To upgrade from a previous version of CDV, you must export CDV data from your current instance and import this data back into the new CDV 26.1 feature module instance on Address Manager.
There are multiple supported upgrade scenarios for CDV 26.1:
- Upgrade Address Manager server, then export/import CDV database
- Stop the CDV 25.3 container while Address Manager is still at version 25.1.x or earlier.
- Upgrade Address Manager server to version 26.1.0+.
- Start the CDV 25.3 container.
- Export the CDV database from the CDV 25.3 container.
- Disable (remove) the CDV 25.3 container.
- On the upgraded Address Manager server, activate CDV 26.1 as a feature module.
- Import the previously exported CDV database into CDV 26.1.

database
