Address Manager provides access to several logs that record DNS/DHCP Server operations. Server logs are accessible from the System logs page.
To view DNS/DHCP Server logs:
- Select the Global tab in the sidebar.
- Select System logs.
- Select the name of a DNS/DHCP Server appliance in the secondary sidebar.

The following logs are available:
- commandServer.log—the command server is the application running on DNS/DHCP Servers that controls deployment and all other connections to it. The log lists events that are directly related to the command server.
- named—system log events related to DNS.
- dhcpd—system log events related to DHCP.
- syslog—information about the central functions on the DNS/DHCP Server including DNS and DHCP data.
- update.log—contains information about updates applied to the DNS/DHCP Server.
- check-bind.log—information from the DNS deployment validation process performed on data deployed to the server.
- check-zone.log—information from the DNS zone deployment validation process performed on data deployed to the server.
- check-dhcpd.log—information from the DHCP validation process performed on data deployed to the server.
Note: To download a server log, select the checkbox for one or more server logs in the table, then select Actions > Download.
