26.1.0

You can view change requests with the Workflow requests dashboard widget, and on the Workflow requests tab of configurations and other Address Manager objects.

Users with different workflow permissions see different change request items:
  • Users with the Approve workflow permission see change requests from all users.
  • Users with the Recommend workflow permission see only their own change requests.
  • Users with the None workflow permission don't see any change request information.
Note: The Workflow requests tab of a configuration lists all the change requests within the configuration. The Workflow requests tab of a DNS view, DNS zone, resource record, external host record, IPv4 block, IPv4 network, or IPv4 address lists all change requests made within or for the object.
Note: Address Manager v25.1 changes in behaviour:
  • In Address Manager v25.1, pending objects are listed on the Workflow requests tab. To create another object within the pending object, such as a resource record within a pending zone, select the pending object's name in the table on the Workflow requests tab.
  • In previous versions of Address Manager, a non-admin user with ‘full access’ access level and ‘recommend’ workflow level was unable to delete multiple objects at the same time. In Address Manager v25.1.0, multiple objects can be deleted at the same time, creating multiple change requests.

To view all workflow change requests within a configuration:

  1. Select the Global tab in the sidebar, then select Configurations.
  2. Select the name of a configuration.
  3. Select the Workflow requests tab.
  4. Select a row containing a workflow request to expand the additional details section.
The expanded details section lists the following change request information:
    • Object ID—the system identification number for the change request.
    • Resource—resource that is being created, modified, or deleted in the workflow request.
    • Resource type—the type of resource that is being created, modified, or deleted in the workflow request.
    • Operation—the action requested by a user, such as the creation or deletion of an object.
    • State—The approval state of the workflow request, either Pending, Approved, or Denied. The state will be Pending if the workflow request has not yet been processed by an authorized user.
    • Dependent request—displays any workflow change requests that must be approved before this change request can be approved. For example, an IP address assignment may be dependent upon a network creation request being approved.
    • Creator—the user who has made the change request.
    • Creation time—the date and time the change request was made.
    • Modifier—the user who approved or denied the change request. This information appears only after a change request is approved or denied.
    • Modification time—the date and time the change request was approved. This information appears only after a change request is approved.
    • Comment—The change control comment added during creation of the workflow request.
    • Field updates—A list of updated fields in the workflow request.
  5. Once you have reviewed the workflow request changes, approve, deny, or delete the workflow request.
The actions you can perform depend on your workflow permissions and the state of the change request:
    • Users with Recommend permission can delete the change request regardless of the state of the request.
    • Users with Approve permission can approve or deny the change request if it's in the Pending state.
    To approve the change request:
    • Select Review.
    • Under General, select the Override IP overlap detection checkbox if you want to override IP overlap detection settings enabled on the configuration, ignoring conflicts of requested objects with existing blocks or networks in other configurations.
    • Enter a Change control comment if required.
    • Select Approve.
    To deny the change request:
    • Select Review.
    • Enter a Change control comment if required.
    • Select Deny.

    To delete the change request:

    • Select Delete.
    • Select Delete workflow request.
