A zone transfer is the mechanism that transfers DNS data from a primary DNS server to one or more secondary DNS servers.
This section describes how to configure DNS deployment options needed for zone
transfers.
Note: When you
deploy a zone that has been assigned a Primary deployment role and at least one
Secondary deployment role, the Zone Transfers setting is automatically set to Allow
Zone Transfers only to servers listed on the Name Servers tab. In this case,
Address Manager uses the deployment roles to determine these settings
and does not require you to manually configure the Allow Zone Transfers option.
