Multi-interface DNS/DHCP Servers with dedicated management disabled can also be configured for xHA. With services and management split between the Service and Management interfaces, xHA with dedicated management requires the use of virtual IPv4 addresses for both the service interface and the management interface.
The diagram below illustrates the creation of an xHA pair using DNS/DHCP Servers with dedicated management disabled.
When creating xHA, you must add a new IPv4 address for eth0, as the original IPv4 address of DNS Server 1 becomes the virtual IP address of the xHA cluster.
You can also specify an optional ping address that the servers in the pair can use to help determine the status of their network connection. The ping address must be accessible to both servers in the pair.
