Multi-interface DNS/DHCP Servers with dedicated management disabled can be configured for xHA. With services and management traffic both configured on the eth0 interface, xHA with dedicated management disabled creates a virtual IP address (IPv4-only, IPv6-only) or addresses (dual-stack) for eth0.

The diagram below illustrates the creation of an xHA pair using DNS/DHCP Servers with dedicated management disabled.

When creating xHA, you must add a new IP address (or addresses for dual-stack) for eth0, as the original IP address of DNS Server 1 becomes the virtual IP address of the xHA cluster.

After xHA

You can also specify an optional ping address that the servers in the pair can use to help determine the status of their network connection. The ping address must be accessible to both servers in the pair.
