The BlueCat Cisco ACI workflow imports Cisco ACI infrastructure details into a configuration within BlueCat Address Manager (BAM). Before using it, make sure you have an account in the Cisco APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller) that manages your infrastructure. BlueCat Cisco ACI Plugin connects to the Cisco APIC and performs discoveries through this component.

The import operation has two main steps:

  1. Discover tenants: Scan the Cisco ACI network for available tenants to import.

You can optionally also import Cisco Fabric devices into BAM at this time.

  2. Select and import tenant infrastructure: Select the tenants whose infrastructure you want to import and import them into BAM.

You can also schedule this discovery to automatically re-run at a specified interval.

You cannot make changes to discovery settings or schedules while discovery is running. To pause discovery, scroll to the bottom of the BlueCat Cisco ACI page and click Pause discovery. The status of the discovery will change to Paused to indicate that execution of the discovery job has temporarily stopped.

Tip: If an error occurs during a scheduled discovery (such as a loss of connection to the APIC or BAM), the status of the discovery job remains as Running but the colour changes to red. To see what the error is, hover over the status indicator.
