The DDNS Deployment tab displays details about the Distributed DDNS services currently deployed to each BDDS. Information about the deployment role for each BDDS is retrieved from Address Manager. Information about the Service Type is retrieved from the Distributed DDNS database, as long as there is at least one BDDS configured with the Distributed DDNS database component.

Tip: If your system uses multiple database nodes, you can switch between them by clicking the Switch DB button. After clicking, it might take a few minutes for the database list to appear.
  • The current database is indicated with a green checkmark.
  • To switch to a different database, select it from the list.

This tab displays 100 servers at a time. You can page through the list if needed. To search for a specific server by name or address, click the Search icon next to the Name or IP address column header.

The current deployment status for each BDDS is indicated in the Deployed column:
  • or : A green icon indicates that the server is running a Distributed DDNS Database Node.

A checkmark indicates that the Database Node is properly configured. An up-arrow indicates that the version of the Database Node on that server is out of date and should be updated.

  • or : A blue icon indicates that the server is running a Distributed DDNS Service Node.

A checkmark indicates that the DDNS Service Node is properly configured. An up-arrow indicates that the version of the Service Node on that server is out of date and should be updated.

  • : A purple checkmark icon indicates that a DNS service is configured on that server, but that it is neither a DDNS Database Node nor a DDNS Service Node.

  • : A grey "X" indicates that this Application Node cannot connect to that BDDS.

Note:
  • You cannot deploy a Distributed DDNS Service or a Distributed DDNS Database to a BDDS if that component was already deployed there.
  • You cannot deploy a Distributed DDNS Service to a BDDS if a DNS Service is currently deployed there.
Tip: If the BDDS Servers list does not contain any servers, make sure that the Distributed DDNS Application Node has access to the configurations and views within Address Manager. For more details on granting this access and deploying Distributed DDNS components on BDDS, refer to Deploying Distributed DDNS Data Nodes on BDDSes and Deploying Distributed DDNS Service Nodes on a BDDS.
