On the DNS Zone tab, you can add existing DNS Zones from Address Manager to work with.

The DNS Zones tab displays a list of forward zones that have been added to the database.

  1. In the Add zone name field, enter the name of a DNS Zone that exists within the Address Manager configuration and view specified in the Configuration tab and click Add.
    Note: If the DNS Zone entered does not exist within the specified configuration and view in Address Manager, the following message appears:
    "Zone <name> does not belong to view <view name> in BAM <Address Manager IP>"
  2. Click to delete a DNS zone that you no longer wish to work with.
Note: Removing data in Address Manager might result in issues with zone configurations. Zone names that contain configuration issues are indicated with an orange exclamation mark next to the name. You can hover over the zone name to display issues with the configuration. To resolve the configuration issues, click the name of the zone and edit the configuration. Common configuration issues are as follows:
  • The zone is missing a TSIG key.
  • Update to Name permissions of the zone are missing the TSIG key in the identity value.

Once you have added the DNS Zones that you wish to work with from Address Manager, click the name of the zone to configure additional DNS Zone details. The Manage Domain <zone name> page appears where you can enter additional configuration information for the DNS Zone.
