The Scavenging Resource Records page allows you to configure scheduled jobs for scavenging different resource record types. The Auto Scavenge service that runs on one of the Data Nodes will run the configured scheduled jobs if the Auto Scavenge service is configured and running.

By default, enabling the Auto Scavenge setting within the Configuration page automatically creates a scavenging settings for the ANY resource record type.



Configuring a new schedule scavenging job

  1. Click New Schedule.
  2. Under Record Type, select the resource record type that will be scavenged.
  3. Under Start date Time (UTC), select a custom date-time. By default, the current date and time is selected in UTC. You must enter a value that is the current date or a future date.

    If you enter a start time that is before the current time, the start date-time is the value plus the Scavenging Interval value. If you select a start time that is after the current time, the start date-time will remain the entered value.

  4. Under Scavenging Interval, select the interval at which the scheduled scavenging job is performed.
  5. Under Status, toggle the slider to enable or disable the scheduled scavenging job. By default, the job is enabled.
  6. Click Save.

Running a scheduled scavenging job

  1. Click Run Now within the row of a configured scheduled scavenging job.
    Note: If you have configured the scheduled scavenging job without saving the settings, you can still select the Run Now button. The Run Now button is disabled if no resource record type is selected.
  2. In the confirmation window, click OK to confirm that the scavenging job will be run.

Once the service completes the scavenging job, a window appears displaying the results of the scavenging job.

Deleting a scheduled scavenging job

  1. Click Delete within the row of a configured scheduled scavenging job.
  2. In the confirmation window, click OK to confirm that the scavenging job will be deleted.
