Attention: Configuring DHCP service on a BlueCat DNS and DHCP Server for GCP virtual appliance

If you are configuring DHCP service on your BlueCat DNS and DHCP Server for GCP virtual appliance, the DHCP traffic to the virtual appliance must be Unicast. GCP does not support DHCP broadcast in a VPC. If you would like to configure DHCP service on a BlueCat DNS and DHCP Server for GCP virtual appliance to be accessible from on-premise devices, you must use a DHCP helper or relay so that the DHCP traffic will be Unicast.

The BlueCat DNS and DHCP Server for GCP virtual appliance cannot provide DHCP to any cloud devices within the VPC where it resides, as this is handled automatically by GCP for hosts. The BlueCat DNS and DHCP Server for GCP virtual appliance can provide Unicast DHCP as a service to hosts external to the VPC.
