Adding a new service to DDI orchestrator is a two- or three-step process, depending on the type of service you are adding. You can add any of the supported services.

To add a service:

  1. On the Service management tab of the Admin page, select Add service on the task bar.
  2. In the wizard, select the type of service you want to add and then select Next. The list of service options is based on your license keys.
    In the Service type step of the Add service wizard, select the type of service you want to add from the list.
  3. Select an agent from the dropdown. Any devices you have registered in the Device hub, such as agents, will be displayed. For instructions on how to add agents, refer to Install DDI agents.
    Important: It is not possible to make a connection between Central and the agents if there is more than a five (5) minute clock skew difference between the servers on which they are hosted. Use Network Time Protocol (NTP) to make sure that the clocks are synchronized.
    Tip: The Add service wizard displays a sidebar with context-sensitive help specific to the type of service you select.
  4. Enter the necessary information, such as the hostname or IP address for the service/server, and select Next.
    • Cloud services: Each service type has its set of credentials in addition to the optional service name. For more information about adding cloud services, refer to Adding cloud services.
    • On-premises services: Enter the hostname or IP address of the service/server.
      • Enter the hostname or IP address of the service/server.
      • If adding a Kea service on which v4 and v6 services are running on separate ports, you can enter the port number as :xxx in the Server name field. If no port is provided, the default port 8000 is assumed.
  5. If custom properties have been defined, a Custom properties step is included for service types that support them. If the service supports custom properties, you can set custom property values, for example, authority and region. For more information about custom properties, refer to Custom properties. When finished, select Next.
  6. Review the service's settings in the Summary step. If you need to make any changes to the service, use the Back button to return to any of the previous steps.
  7. Select Add to add the service to the DDI orchestrator application.
