When logging into BlueCat Horizon for the first time, use the link and credentials received in your email. To authenticate for the first login, use the Temporary Password provided in the email. Make sure to enter the email address and temporary password exactly as they were provided to you.

To get started with BlueCat Horizon:

  1. In your welcome email, verify your email address.
  2. Navigate to your specific customer domain.
  3. On the login page, select Forgot password?.
  4. In the provided field, enter your email address and select Continue. An email containing instructions for resetting your password will be sent to this address.
  5. Reset your password according to the password requirements defined in the customer settings.
  6. Log into your domain with the new password.
Note: This is the root user account. As a best practice, we recommend creating a new user to act as the system administrator and assign it to a role with the permissions for the business logic that an administrator requires in your environment. For instructions on creating users, refer to Create users, groups, and roles.

When you log into BlueCat Horizon, the first feature displayed is the Overview dashboard. The dashboard displays tiles with relevant information related to your networks, zones, and more. For more information about the dashboard, refer to Using the Overview dashboard in the BlueCat Horizon User Guide.

Any applications for which you have purchased licenses, such as DDI orchestrator, will be displayed in the navigation bar, where you can select and access them.


The navigation bar is located on the left side of the screen and provides navigation to the platform's different modules and applications, such as DDI orchestrator.
