You can add DHCP scopes to a superscope either:

Adding scopes during scope creation

If a superscope exists on the DHCP server, you can add a new DHCP scope to it when creating the scope.

  1. On the Networks tab of the IPAM page, select Create on the task bar.
  2. Select DHCP scope in the dropdown.
  3. In the dialog, specify a network address, server, and address pool. For more information about creating scopes, refer to Creating networks.
  4. Select the superscope to which you want to add the new scope.

  5. Complete the dialog and select Finish to create the scope.

Adding an existing scope to a superscope

You can add existing scopes to superscopes on the DHCP server.

To add an existing scope to a superscope:

  1. On the Networks tab of the IPAM page, locate the scope(s) you want to add to the superscope.
  2. Use either the Action menu or the ellipses in the row to select Set superscope.
  3. Select the desired superscope.

    • The list displays superscopes that are on the same DHCP server as the scope.
    • To remove a scope from a superscope, clear the Superscope field.
    • For split-scope ranges, only the superscopes available on both servers are displayed. Selecting one will place both scopes in their respective superscopes on each server.
  4. Select Save.

Transferring scopes to different superscopes

Through DDI orchestrator, you can transfer DHCP scopes between superscopes on the DHCP server as needed.

To transfer a scope to a different superscope:

  1. On the Networks tab of the IPAM page, locate the scope(s) you want to transfer.
  2. Use either the Action menu or the ellipses in the row to select Set superscope.
  3. Select the superscope to which you want to transfer the scope(s).
    Note: For split-scope ranges, only the superscopes available on both servers are displayed. Selecting one will place both scopes in their respective superscopes on each server.

Removing scopes from superscopes

You can remove one or more scopes from a superscope to reorganize the scopes on the server. This action does not delete or disable the scope, and it can be added to a different superscope on the server if required.

There are two ways to remove a scope from a superscope:

  1. On the DHCP superscopes tab of the IPAM page, select the superscope containing the scope you want to remove.
    1. In the Inspector, find the relevant scope and use the ellipses in the scope's row to select Remove from superscope.

  2. On the Networks tab of the IPAM page, locate the scope you want to remove.
    Note: You can use the Superscopes filter in the left sidebar to filter the list.
    1. Use either the Action menu or the ellipses in the row to select Set superscope.
    2. Delete the scope from the Superscope field.
