Local users are registered and authenticate through BlueCat Horizon, rather than an external identity provider. These users and their access privileges can be completely managed through the platform.

To create a local user:

  1. On the Users page, select New.
  2. In the dialog, enter the following information about the new user:
    • Name: A name for the user.
    • Email: The user's email address.
    • Roles: Use the dropdown to select which role(s) to assign to the user.
    • Groups: Use the dropdown to select group(s) to which you want to add the user.
  3. Select Create.

The dialog will confirm that an invitation has been sent to the user via the email address you entered in the form. This comes in the form of two emails: a welcome email and a password reset email. The user will not be able to log into BlueCat Horizon until they reset their password.

The links in the welcome and password reset emails expire after 30 days. If the user has not reset their password by that point, you will need to initiate a password reset for them.
