DHCP reservations can be created in unassigned address spaces, address pools, and excluded addresses. You can also set specific options for reserved IP addresses.
Creating a DHCP reservation
To create a DHCP reservation:
- On the Networks tab within the IPAM page, select the relevant scope.
- Open the scope by double-clicking it or selecting Open in the task bar.
- Select the relevant IP address in the list and select Reserve in the task bar.
- Enter the required information:
- Name: Assign a name to identify the reserved address.
- Reservation method: Choose between
Hardware address or Client
identifier.
- Hardware address: Enter the MAC Address (Media Access Control Address) of the network node for which this address is being reserved.
- Client identifier: Use the ASCII and HEX switch on the right to change the input type. Then enter the client identifier.
- Reservation type: Select whether this reservation should support DHCP, BOOTP (Bootstrap Protocol), or the default DHCP and BOOTP.
- Description: (Optional) Enter a description of the DHCP reservation.
- Select Create to finalize the reservation.
The status of the IP address will change to Reserved.
Editing and deleting reservations
To edit or delete a reservation:
- After opening the DHCP scope in the list, select the reserved IP address for which you want to edit or delete a reservation.
- Use the Action menu or the ellipses in the row to select either Edit DHCP reservation to edit the reservation or Delete DHCP reservation to delete it.
Editing reservation options
To edit reservation options:
- After opening the DHCP scope in the list, select the reserved IP address.
- Use either the Action menu or the ellipses in the row to select Edit reservation options.
- In the dialog, edit the reservation options as needed.Note: For more information about DHCP options and editing them, refer to DHCP scope options.
- Select Save.
