When necessary, you can edit a group's name and description, and even delete the group from the platform entirely.

Editing groups

Note: Editing a group does not provide options to add or remove user or to update the group's roles. For instructions on how to do so, refer to:

To edit a group:

  1. Navigate to User management > Groups and locate the group you want to edit in the list.
  2. Select the ellipses in the row, and then select Edit.
  3. In the dialog, edit the group name and/or description as needed.
  4. Select Update.

The updates will be immediately displayed in the list on the Groups page.

Deleting groups

When you delete a group from the platform, the users in the group and the roles assigned to the group are not deleted. They are only removed from the group.

Deleting a group is permanent. It cannot be restored after deletion.

Important: When deleting a group, the users that were members of the group will lose the access permissions associated any roles that had been assigned to the group. Be aware that, depending on their role configurations, these users may gain access permissions if one of the group's roles included a Deny rule.

To delete a group:

  1. Navigate to User management > Groups and locate the group you want to delete in the list.
  2. Select the ellipses in the row, and then select Delete.
  3. In the dialog, select Delete group to confirm that you want to delete the group.

The group will be deleted and no longer displayed in the list on the Groups page. The group membership will be removed from all users that were part of the group.
